Today I’m thankful for the thwarted attempt by terrorists to detonate liquid bombs on up to 10 US-bound commercial airliners. It makes me cringe to think about the potential loss of life. Praise God that the proper authorities were able to keep the violent plans of these terrorists from coming to fruition. Today I’m praying that nonviolence will win over violence.

IRONY ALERT!I too praise God that the sheepdogs won this one. The irony, of course, is that the threat of violence is responsible for both the terrorists’ apprehension (I doubt they would have willingly left their London flats without it) and their ongoing incarceration (I doubt that they would willingly stay in their cells without bars and guards carrying guns).So, go easy on those sheepdogs (Romans 13:3-4) and keep on praying for peace .
So let me get this clear, go easy on the terrorists, its not really their fault someone else “made them do it”.

You know what freaks me out completely about this whole thing? I flew in/out of the Heathrow airport twice this summer. I was pretty scary to think about that…

I’ll break it down into “Xs” and “Os:” :-)Sheepdogs = good guys (usually wear a uniform, have big muscles and carry guns, but they love little children and help little old ladies across the street)Sheep = average citizen on the streetWolves = bad guys (often carrying bombs)Irony = something unexpected or something that looks odd or out of place when placed side-by-side and compared with something elseIn this case, Jason said that he’s praying for nonviolence to triumph over violence. However, in the case of the terrorist plot, it’s ironic that violence (or the threat of) was needed to bag the bad guys. So, nonviolence, in the strictest sense of the word, does not always meet the needs of every situation or result in the saving of thousands of lives.However, like Jason, I look forward to the day the wolf will lose his appetite for blood and lie down beside the sheepdog and watch the Big Game together!

Ok that makes more sense. I thought you were saying the terrorists were who they are because of those in charge of them threatening them. BTW: appreciate the dictionary you gave with the terms…
