MyPod: Workout Music

As my daily contribution to the Skinny ‘N Rich team, I’m about to go and work out. Here’s the playlist I created on my iPod. Tell me what you listen to while you run / work out.

  1. Gonna Fly Now (Theme from Rocky)
  2. Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana
  3. Are You Gonna Be My Girl – Jet
  4. Song 2 – Blur
  5. Vertigo – U2
  6. E-Pro – Beck
  7. Hard to Handle – The Black Crowes
  8. Santa Monica – Everclear
  9. Immigrant Song – Led Zeppelin
  10. Daughter – Pearl Jam
  11. Another One Bites the Dust – Queen
  12. Honey – Moby
  13. Because We Can – Fatboy Slim
  14. The Distance – Cake

Any other suggestions? What music fires you up?

Postscript: I am SO out of shape! My goal is to actually make it through all of these songs without passing out.

Did you download this playlist from Gary’s computer at work?

    Yeah, he’s a HUGE Moby fan…

Land of Hope and Dreams by Springsteen is a common work out tune for me. I can get almost a mile in before it’s over. And The Newboys’ “In Christ Alone” always motivates me to keep going for some reason.

How about a little Men Without Hats – Safety Dance?

Actually about 10 of those songs are on my workout/running list.If you really are looking for a good beat to run to, you should go for anything off the newest “Longest Yard” soundtrack. For some reason, even though there may be some rough language in it, motivates and pushes me.And nothing by Weird Al.Oh and thanks for yesterday.

Anything from the Rocky IV Cd is great for working out.

Yeah, I thought about putting Eye of the Tiger on the list, but I already had the Rocky theme. You gotta lead off with that one.
