This week our hometown Huntsville Stars have been hosting their Southern League foe, the Carolina Mudcats. The Mudcats closer, Chris Mobley, was in my youth group when I was a youth minister in Kingsport, Tennessee. Chris was kind enough to arrange for some tickets for us, so on Tuesday night, Abby Kate and Joshua and I made our way to Joe Davis Stadium for the game. The kids were so excited, especially Abby Kate. Since Joshua had the chance to go to both a Cards game and a Titans game recently, Abby Kate was excited to be “one of the boys” for a night! Here are some pics of our night at the ballpark.

Preach the Gospel, die, and be forgotten.

Looks like fun! I’m sure Abby Kate was happy to be included this time. Love her purple shades. π
Minor league baseball is ine of sport’s most unappreciated pleasures…low ticket prices, unique access to personable players, and a chance to see tomorrow’s stars. I’ve been to see the Birmingham Barons (White Sox AA club in the Southern League) play numerous times and have always left feeling that I got terrific value from the evening.
Anna,The purple shades remind me of Elton John. Weird.Allen,I love minor league games. It’s nice having a team here in town. When we lived in Kingsport, we really enjoyed watching the local rookie league team play. It’s good family fun that doesn’t wreck the budget. You didn’t happen to see Michael Jordan when he was a Baron, did you?
No, didn’t see Jordan. I did see Robin Ventura and a few other major-leaguers, though.
Love the pictures of the kiddos. I know it was fun to have time with them…another treasured memory for all of you!
