Wednesday night, I met Sunny and the kids for dinner at Chick Fil-A before church. I sat next to Joshua and halfway through the meal, he leans over, puts his head on my shoulder and looks at me and says, “Daddy, thank you for being my best friend.“
If you only knew, son…
Tuck that one away in the old memory bank for use in about 10 years–you’ll need it.
It is wonderful. Eyeguy is correct – you’ll need the memory in a few years. My 16-yr. old daughter HATED me. UNTIL she went away to college. Now she has me as her best friend and hero. THAT is her gift to me.
That is so sweet. We’re looking forward to having you as our guest speaker Sunday! Your name has been in lights for oh, a week now, on our front sign. :)I’ve really enjoyed getting to know your sister a little bit here lately, too.
So sweet! Those moments are priceless.
