Left for dead after a 41-17 drubbing by the Crimson Tide six weeks ago, my beloved Vols miraculously resurrected their season and, following today’s quadruple-overtime victory over the Kentucky Wildcats, are poised to represent the Eastern Division in next weekend’s Southeastern Conference Championship Game. It’s a testament to what a zany year it’s been that we could lose to Florida by 39 and Bama by 24 and still make it to Atlanta. I’m sure all the prognosticators will pick LSU to completely demolish us, but tonight, we’re simply savoring a 9-3 regular season and a shot at the SEC crown. Now if I could just get my hands on a couple of tickets for next week’s game…

not as good of a day for the roundball vols, though.what was up with the penalties in overtime? why was the facemask against KY not assessed (as the unsportsmanlike on TN was)? I didn’t really understand that. Anyway, another great OT game. I didn’t watch all of it (as I did the Ark-LSU game, of course), but it was a great finish.
Two barn-burners in two days. I caught the end of regulation of the Arkansas-LSU game and all of the overtime periods. McFadden is an absolute beast. I think it’s even money between him and Tebow for the Heisman.
3 botched field goals (Kentucky, South Carolina, & Vandy) have a mediocre team that will get crushed by LSU.
That “mediocre” team beat both Arkansas and Kentucky, the two teams that have defeated LSU. So it’s not like we have no business being on the field with them.
