Ephesians 1 from the Message:

How blessed is God! And what blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus on his love, to be made whole and holy by his love.

I love the way Peterson phrases this. It’s something that we know to be true, but the way he says it really makes it stand out. We are the focus of his love. When I read this, it’s like I’ve never heard that before. I want to give this some time to sink in.

Last night, I was also struck by the sufficiency of His love. I’ll have to post more about that when I have the chance.
