Free Music: Great Lake Swimmers

It’s late on a Saturday night, but just in case you’re interested, I thought I’d let you know about Amazon’s Free Song of the Day over at their MP3 store. Today’s special is “Pulling On A Line” by Canadian folk group Great Lake Swimmers. I came across them earlier this year and they’re great. If you want to check out a free song from a great little band, click here.

I have 3 GLS albums. I think Lost Channels (the newest) is my favorite. I’ve really enjoyed it.

It’ll definitely be making an appearance on my end of the year “Best Of” list. It’s great.

I first heard these good folks over at NPR’s All Songs, then received “Pulling on a Line” via my PASTE sampler a couple of months ago. Good stuff. Do you have the entire album? If so, would you recommend it?

Yes, I have the entire album. I picked it up through eMusic back in the spring. It’s the perfect album for a breezy spring afternoon. They remind me a little of The Jayhawks. If you don’t want to download the whole album, my favorite tracks are “Palmistry”, “She Comes to Me In Dreams”, “The Chorus in the Underground” and “Stealing Tomorrow”.
