Naked and Cold

Last night over dinner, Joshua just out of the blue turns to Abby Kate and says, “Babies are born naked.”

She looks at him, puzzled.

He continues, “Yeah, they come out naked. That’s why they cry.”

Her expression doesn’t change as she considers this.

Seeing that he’s not really getting anywhere, Joshua ratchets up his argument with a personal appeal: “You’d be crying to if you were naked and cold.”

Abby Kate nods and turns back to her chicken nuggets, unaffected by the conversation. Joshua shrugs his shoulders and does the same.

You can’t make this stuff up.

That’s funny. Sounds like he’s already in training to ‘plead his case’…maybe a preacher or lawyer??? πŸ™‚ And, if Abby Kate had actually brought it up, I’m sure she’d be much more interested!

One of my favorite jokes is about a crying newborn baby….

A 9-months pregnant mom is at home alone with her 2 year old son when she goes into labor. She calls 911, but proceeds going through labor alone until someone arrives. When the medics get there, a man helps deliver the baby then holds it up and smacks it on the bottom. It starts to cry. The 2yo son is watching all of this with wide eyes. After everything had calmed down, the medic walked over the the son and asked him what he thought about everything that had just happened. The little boy looked up at the medic and told him, “Well, if you really want to know, I think that baby deserved that spanking. He never should have crawled up there in the first place.”

Yeah, we’re always working on our skills of persuasion around our house. Occupational hazard, I guess!

That joke is hilarious. Probably can’t use it on Sunday mornings, but its still funny!
