Workout Music

So lately, I’ve been hitting up the elliptical machine and the treadmill. After fighting through my initial soreness on the elliptical, I’ve actually found a groove. I think I enjoy it!

But I am looking for some new music for a workout playlist. I’ve sort of worn out my current playlist, so I’m open to any suggestions. Here’s what I’ve been listening to lately while I run:

  1. Anything by the Black Keys
  2. Early Zeppelin (Heartbreaker, Whole Lotta Love)
  3. Jessica by the Allman Brothers (you’d be surprised how great this song is for running)
  4. Fresh Blood by Eels (this should be on your workout list; it’s amazing)
  5. Some Beck

And that’s really about it. I need some suggestions. Help me out here, people.

A few days ago I wrote a blog post including 50 songs that are on my running playlist. I had several clients asking for some new music so I shared mine. There is a lot of rap, but also a lot of other types of music too, so you might find something there you can add to your list.

My suggestion is Katy Perry’s “Firework” and my reasons are two-fold: First, this is actually a really fun song to run to, especially if you are doing any kind of interval training because it has brief spurts of fast-paced music followed by a slower pace. Second, I am already laughing at the idea of you rocking out to Katy Perry on the elliptical 🙂
