So this hasn’t exactly been the best day for me. Spent more time than I wanted searching for a stupid video clip for my IMPACT class. Had to admit I’d dropped the ball on some pretty major admin details re: our mission trip to Mexico. Continued to deal with the aftermath of some recent turmoil at church. And I’m pretty sure the guy that cut my hair today was hitting on me. Daniel Powter, where art thou?
But the last half was better than the first. I was reminded that I have some great shepherds in my life. I have tremendous friends in ministry that prop me up when I need them to. I have a wife that understands what I need. I work with a tremendous group of motivated, spiritually mature teenagers. And after class tonight…Brewster’s ice cream. Not a bad ending, my friends.
I am right there with you man. In the two days before we leave for Impact tomorrow, we have to do the following:1. Finish painting the back rooms of the house.2. Get shots for our Honduras trip.3. Major admin stuff for our Honduras trip4. Hunt down the kids who don’t have all their Honduras stuff done.5. Cut the grass6. Drop our dog off at the kennel.7. Spend 30 minutes faxing stuff8. Go to doctor to get Malaria pills. All of this in one day…no big deal. But alas, your words of comfort also remind me that I’m about to go to a place of total serenity in Guntersville, I’m about to go Praise God for a week at Impact, and I get to go to mission work in Honduras. Plus, I get to go to six flags in st. louis after that.Glad your day got better, and the Nestle Crunch Ice Cream is the best!
Do you say “Daniel Powter, where art thou?” because you want him to sing that annoying song or because you prefer that he be the one hitting on you?
Yeah, Scott, you’ve outed me. Now the world knows my man crush on Daniel Powter.
Hang in there, Lane. I feel your pain. It’ll be good to catch up with you at Impact. See you there.
hey are you coming to both junior and senior? On Sunday of Junior, Kristen and I are driving to Lebanon to be with my family for Father’s Day and birthdays. If you and Sunny want to catch a ride (in our rented GMC Yukon, sweet ride, but gas guzzler, but then again, so are the vans…) feel free to. We’ll leave to eat lunch with them, so if you wanted to go visit your sister and Sunny’s parents, you can go with us.
We might do that. The only thing is I’m teaching a class and I’m pretty sure there’ll be another session that afternoon. But if not, I’m there. And Sunny may want to hitch a ride with y’all either way.
Youth camps–bring me a T-shirt.
Hey, if you need any help in your class, let me know. I’m not doing anything, and I’ll be more than happy to hit a play button or turn some sound on or whatever. It’ll give me something to do.Just catch up with us sometime, and we’ll work out Sunday, if nothing else, so Sunny can go with us. I’m looking at the schedule now and it appears that Sunday they have class from 1:30 to 2:05, so you might not be able to make it. We were planning on leaving by noon to make it for lunch.
Would you want to stay in my class every day? I’d be glad for you to do that. I could definitely use the help. But you’d have to sit and listen my class like 12 times or something. Not sure if I’d want to do that.
I don’t mind, I could be in there everyday except for that time on Sunday morning. It’ll make me feel like i’m doing something important. Count me in man. Just get in touch with me sometime tomorrow afternoon. Over and out
Sweet.
Mayfair youth group… Impact… Brewster’s ice cream.. I wish I was there with you all going crazy and having bad days instead of here going crazy and having bad days!
Hope this week gets better!Take care
