Blogger Bowl

I’m 19 minutes away from my fantasy football draft in the inaugural Blogger Bowl. I have the 6th pick out of 10 teams. Guess that means I won’t be able to snag one of the top RBs. But I might grab my boy Peyton. I don’t know.

Tomorrow’s post: all things football. I’ll unveil my roster and make my picks for the upcoming SEC season. I’m ready for some pigskin, baby!

Just a little help with your picks. Remember Tennessee is not good. I know you like them, but they are not going to even go .500 in the SEC. Auburn is too easy a pick, lets see something new. Go with Arkansas and shock us all.

Not going .500 is nuts. I doubt we’re going to a BCS bowl or anything, but we were only about 10 total points from winning another three games last season. We play Kentucky and Vandy (post Cutler), so that would mean we’d only have to win 2 of the other 6 confernce games to go .500. And most of the tough games are at home.Herbstreit picked UT to win the East last Saturday on Gameday’s preview show. I wouldn’t go that far, but UT will be improved. How could it be any worse?

Hey man, I hope you drafted Kerry Collins. He’s so good, the Titans took him to supplement their already stellar offense. Don’t forget to take the Titan’s defense as well…since we have PacMan Jones. That is, if he can stay out of jail. Sigh, what happened to our beloved Titans? Is it maybe time to look at getting rid of Jeff Fisher, or is this all a Bud Adams destruction?

That was a tougher draft than I anticipated. My team didn’t look as good as I envisioned. This’ll be a tough league.

Matt,I’m with you all the way. Do you pick us to beat Florida? I hate traveling to Georgia, but everybody else we play at home.

Lane,I don’t blame Fisher completley for this. He’s still a good coach, but after a couple of 4-12’s, he’s on thin ice. If the Titans don’t show significant improvement this year, he might be canned. I actually like the move to pick up Collins. Volek has played well in spot starts, but I don’t know if he’s NFL-starting-QB-caliber. Collins is no savior, but he’s at least experienced. And I have zero confidence in Vince Young this season (or in the future for that matter). I still wished they’d drafted Leinart.

Scott,It was a pretty tough draft. I was surprised that everybody knew their stuff. Of course, it helped having the Yahoo draft rankings right there for quick reference. What are you gonna do with 3 QB’s?

I like to have 3 QBs going in to the regular season. I always have one I can drop or trade as we get a better idea of who is available.
