Boys Night

Tomorrow, Sunny and Abby Kate and Jackson will be going up to Nashville for the night. Sunny and Abby Kate will be joining my sister and her daughter to go see the Rockettes at Opryland. So that leaves Joshua and me here at the ol’ homestead. We’re looking forward to a Boys Weekend together. On Saturday, we’ll definitely make time to watch the SEC Championship Game. But we’re wide open on Friday night? Any ideas? I’m thinking of taking him to see a movie. I hear The Golden Compass is good.

Seriously, I thought about Bee Movie. Anybody seen it? Is it good? Any other suggestions? If it were summer time, I’d take him to a Stars game.

Either way, I’m looking forward to a fun night with the little guy!

Nothing says boys night out like going to see American Gangster. Maybe a little too graphic for the little guy, but the previews make it look like a great flick.Seriously though, I’m sure he’ll enjoy whatever you guys do. I remember the few times that just my dad and I did something together. Those are some of the best memories!

Sounds like fun, Jason. I hope you and Joshua have a good time. I just thought I would tell you that Randy Fowler had a warning about the movie The Golden Compass in one of the recent Children’s Ministry Newsletters that they send through e-mail. He said that the man who wrote it is an athiest and his goal is to teach that God doesn’t exist to kids in a “hidden way” through his movies and books. Randy had attached some stuff from Christian sources about it; Just thought you might want to know that and do a little research beforehand.

I think that he would love to see Bee Movie. He will have fun doing anything with you. I think that he will really enjoy having you ALL to himself. He just can’t get enough of you!!!

I just came across this review of the Golden Compass at usatoday.com. Apparently the movie doesn’t come out until next week. It appears that neither Christians nor Atheist are happy with the films direction. Here’s the link if your interested in checking it out:http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2007-11-28-compass-controversy_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip

If you had a pup tent you could set up in the living room, pop popcorn, order pizza, watch a movie from the tent, then fall asleep there – it would be a night to remember! Also, I bet he would like driving around to look at the Christmas lights while you listen to Christmas music, then take him somewhere for hot chocolate, or hot fudge cake. Does Huntsville have a Maggie Moo’s?? No bathing or shaving while the girls are away either……Don’t forget to build up the moment when Mommy returns. Have dinner ready and let him cook – You’ll score a lot of points in that ‘motions bank.
