Today’s helpful tip for the day: never take medicine before putting in your contact lenses.
I woke up this morning with a bad sore throat. I could feel it hurting last night and this morning it was way worse. So I got up and rummaged through the medicine basket we keep under the bathroom sink. I found some sore throat medicine, the blue kind that coats your throat and gives you instant relief from a sore throat. I took some and then continued to get ready and scooted out the door.
I’ve been sitting in my office now for the past two hours and I’m fighting to stay awake. Apparently the med I took was some of that nighttime generic Nyquil make-you-sleepy stuff. I’m working my way through my third cup of coffee and I feel like I need to prop my eyelids open with toothpicks or something. Help!
You took Tylenol!!! It is the nighttime formula, but I don’t think it has THAT much strength. I’m able to take it and it is just fine, but I guess that everyone reacts to medicine a little differently. Sorry that I told you it would be okay!
Now I feel like a real wuss…
YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE MEDICATION! but I do hope you feel better soon!
Wow…should be a fun day for you! I hope you stay awake. Don’t you know by now that women are tougher than men. Just kidding! š
Anna,Watching Sunny carry and give birth to 3 children convinced me of that!
I don't think it has anything to do with being a wuss! I birthed my last 2 children naturally because my body can't handle any kind of medicine stronger than Motrin š Anything else & I'm laid out in the floor for about 2 days–wouldn't the boys love that?
just some advice from your friendly (usually) small-group pharmacist: medicine baskets/cabinets/chests are better kept somewhere other than the bathroom! humidity in the bathroom can do damage to tablets and capsules!having said that…..that stuff knocks me out too….so if you are a wuss- maybe we could start a club or something!?!
Trey, I had no idea about storing your meds in the bathroom. We keep all of our prescriptions out in the kitchen, but all of the over the counter meds locked up under the sink. I guess that we need to find another home for them!
There you go, Sunny. It must’ve been the humidity that helped “ferment” our Tylenol. Let’s move it ASAP. Now that I think about it, all of this is starting to make sense of this. I think somebody (Casper? Sunny?) has been spiking the sore throat medicine!
