My niece came to church with us this morning. Joshua snapped this picture of her midway through my sermon. “Blessed is the man whose children keep him humble.”

Jackson performed his original song “Utopia” at Madison Academy’s Music Mania this year. This composition is so powerful because it evokes emotion. Someone who heard it recently described the song as “epic.” I like that word, but you could also say that the song exudes a sense of warmth as well. Either way, it’s one of my favorites and I’m grateful that Jackson had the opportunity to showcase his songwriting and his performing ability. Proud of this young man.
Jackson made a last minute decision to run track this spring. Originally he wasn’t going to run, choosing instead to focus exclusively on his music. But I’m glad he decided to run outdoor track again. He’s run cross country and track every year since the seventh grade. And I know I’m biased, but I think he has the best running form. Love watching him compete.

We have a great team photographer. Love how she captured Joshua’s emotion in this pic. Also love the maroon on white look. Definitely my favorite look for this team.

This helpful chart is from Neil Shenvi’s excellent book Why Believe?: A Reasoned Approach to Christianity. This one will definitely be making my end-of-the-year list.
