Huntsville Inner City Church

Two of my heroes in ministry are Art and Cynthia Leslie. For the past several years, they have been serving as the directors of the Huntsville Inner City Church of Christ. Their ministry is making a difference in the lives of “the least of these” in Huntsville. I personally appreciate Art and Cynthia for their humility, their compassion and their tireless devotion to service. Through efforts like the Huntsville Learning Center (which was started last fall and is already functioning at maximum capacity), Art and Cynthia are helping to break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy that many of our inner city students are facing.

Tonight the Huntsville Inner City Church hosted their annual catfish dinner fundraiser. Nearly 600 people were treated to a wonderful meal of catfish, chicken and shrimp. (When I was feeling under the weather earlier in the week, I was worried that I’d miss out on all the great food!) After dinner, Art and some of the leaders of the Inner City Church shared what God has been doing in their ministry. After a brief program, we passed the hats and over $55,000 was raised to support this mission work. Praise God!

If you live in the Huntsville area or if you’re looking for a ministry to help support, I’d encourage you to consider the Huntsville Inner City Church. Click here for more information.
