Premature March Madness

I don’t know if I’ve ever been as stoked about a college basketball game in February. Frankly, I usually don’t pay attention until I fill out my bracket in early March. But it’s a half-hour before tip-off and I’m ready to go. I love Bruce Pearl and what he’s done for the basketball program at Tennessee. If he wasn’t our coach, he’s one of those guys I probably wouldn’t like. But thankfully, he IS ours. I’m hoping he cracks out the orange jacket tonight. I gotta get one of those for church. Anyway, #1 vs. #2…how can you not get hyped for this one?

Go Vols, baby!

UT is Number 1 in Men’s Basketball. Repent now, for the end is near.

How about that shot by Tyler Smith at the end? When Lofton was at the line to ice things, I looked at Sunny and said, “We win.” What a game.

I’ve often thought that the best explanation for Tennessee’s success is “We have Chris Loften, and you don’t.” He can dominate the game from a shooting standpoint, or he forces the other team to focus on him so much that it allows Jujuan Smith to score 32, like the Arkansas game. Add in the greatly improved Chism and then Tyler Smith on top of that, and this looks like a Final Four team. And I still can’t believe I’m typing that about the UT Men’s team.
